PUBG Mobile update 0.18.0 is launching very soon, with Tencent providing more news on its plans for the patch, and for launching Season 13 next week.
UPDATE: Tencent has confirmed that PUBG Mobile update 0.18.0 is now rolling out and some gamers on Android and iOS have reported being able to patch their game in the UK.
However, not everyone will have access to the new download yet but all PUBG players should have the patch available to them by the end of today, May 7, 2020.

ORIGINAL: A new PUBG Mobile update is being released this week by Tencent, a full week before Season 13 is scheduled to launch. We now know that PUBG Mobile 0.18.0 will be released on May 7, 2020, although no set release time has been shared. Based on past patches, we would expect the latest PUBG Mobile update to start rolling out at around 1am ET.

Because Tencent chooses to release its updates in waves, some players will receive the latest game build before others.
And this can lead to you not being able to play with friends until they have installed the patch.
The good news is that servers will not be taken offline for maintenance, meaning there should be less disruption for games on Android and iOS.
The only downside is that this week’s PUBG Mobile update is large and will require a decent amount of room to be installed.
A message in the recently shared patch notes explains: “PUBG MOBILE will be pushing out updates starting on May
“The server will not be taken offline for this update. This upda requires approximately 1.97 GB of storage space on Android devices and 2.21 GB of storage space on iOS devices.
“Players on different versions won’t be able to invite one another, so be sure to update as soon as possible.”

The reason that this week’s update is so chunky is due to the revamped Miramar map being released. Visual updates have been made to the Classic Miramar map, along with some new elements.
An Oasis has been added to the northern part of the map and players will also notice that the Urban Ruins are now located northwest.
PUBG fans will alnotice that more housing areas, roads, and resources have been added and a new race track now runs through the whole map.
Another eye-catching inclusion is the Golden Mirado, with a single vehicle spawning on the whole map.
Meanwhile, Miramar's New Vending Machines will be stocked Energy Drinks and Painkillers, and gamers will also need to keep a lookout for Sandstorms.
There is a chance for areas in Miramar and the Main Menu to be ravaged by Sandstorms, and it appears these are chosen at random.

PUBG MOBILE SEASON 13 RELEASE DATE
Away from this week’s PUBG Mobile update, Tencent has confirmed its plans for what will follow. This includes the PUBG Mobile Season 13 Royale Pass releasing on May 13 on Android and iOS.
This will be a big part of the PUBG Mobile Season 13 rollout and has been given the theme of a Toy Playground.
